:: How did you get into weight training?
My father was always into weight training as a young man and had always encouraged me to train with weights. I believe that it was this initial influence from my old man that has enabled me to continue to develop my appreciation of the sport.
At the age of 13, I had often borrowed my father's dumbell set to rep out a few sets of bicep curls. Curls for the girls! It wasn't until I was in university studying my physiotherapy degree when I decided to join my first local gym. From there, my interest and passion for body building progressed and developed into what I would call a healthy obsession.
:: What do you like to train?
Chest! Legs! And Arms. No wait, Back! Actually, to be honest, I share the love equally among all my muscle groups. Don't neglect your babies! How do you expect them to develop and grow if you don't give them each TLC?
:: What motivates you?
There are many motivating factors that I make use of to keep me on track with my training. When I am training at the gym and I see someone training with such a high intensity, I can not help but be motivated. I absolutely hate the thought of someone else training harder than me!
:: Who are your favourite bodybuilders?
I would have to say Arnold Schwarezenegger and Kevin Levrone. I usually watch a couple of their workouts before I hit the gym to pump myself up. (no homo)
:: What are your plans for the future?
I plan to enter a bodybuilding competition for fun and for the experience in the near future. I am also contemplating on merging my passion for bodybuilding with my physiotherapy profession. I'm not too sure how or when I will do it, but it's always good to have something to aim for!
